Floyd A. MyersGlen RockFloyd A. Myers, 63, died Sunday December 20, 2015 at Hospice and Community Care, Mount Joy. Following cremation, a memorial service to celebrate his life will be held Saturday January 2, 2015 at 10 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, 47 Hanover St., Glen Rock, with his pastor, the Rev. Ed Robbins, officiating. A time of fellowship for family and friends to share their memories will be held following the service at the church. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. The Geiple Funeral Home, Inc., 53 Main St., Glen Rock, is in charge of the arrangements. Floyd was born on October 9, 1952 in York, a son of the late Adam Romanus and Meda J. (Dehoff) Myers.He graduated in 1970 from Dallastown High School and retired from Southern York County School District in 2014 where he worked in the Maintenance Department for several years. Prior to that he worked at AMP, Inc. and worked as a block mason with Kenneth S. Ness Masonry in Shrewsbury for many years. Laying blocks and bricks was something he continued to do throughout his life. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Glen Rock, the PA Ruffed Grouse Society, the NRA, and he was a Caped Member of the Glen Rock Carolers for 16 years. He enjoyed spending time in the outdoors of Northern PA, where he loved hunting and trapping and enjoyed doing gardening around his house. Floyd leaves a son, Chad A. Myers of Dallastown; a daughter, Ashley N. Golden and her husband, Shane of York; a granddaughter, Cassidy Golden; a brother, Lloyd R. Myers of Wellsville; his companion, Cindy Hoover of Hanover; and her daughters and grandsons; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
