Her Story

Flora Streeter was born on July 16, 1963 to John H Streeter and Ada L Douglas.

Flora enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, cooking up delicious meals, listening to music and watching movies in her spare time. Law and Order: Special Victims Unit and Madea Plays were her favorite. She would also listen to BB King and Lyfe Jennings while cooking and cleaning. One of her favorite things to do was decorating the bathroom for special occasions and holidays with purple decor and butterflies. During her younger years she was well known for her high heels, make up, fashion style and "million dollar walk". She studied at Elston High School in Michigan City, Indiana and later went on to work as a factory worker and lunch lady many years. She also enjoyed helping others. Flora also was a very outspoken person and had a very outgoing personality and kind spirit, however she also did not mind telling people how it was or about themselves. One of her favorite quotes was "You lying and the truth ain't in you!"

Flora accepted Christ at a young age following behind her late father John Henry Streeter who held a powerful position as a deacon for many years. During adulthood she became a member at Canon Baptist Church of Milwaukee, WI.

Flora leaves behind her two children, Devin Leonard and Charles Streeter, 3 Sisters Vera Brewer and Johnnie Garland of Milwaukee, WI and Betty Streeter of Kenosha, WI as well as six adoring grandchildren (Gabby, Derrionna, Devonna, Charles Jr, Chardear and Ada Ann) and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins from Danville, Decatur and Michigan City, Indiana.

She departed this life on November 28th, 2024 peacefully at home surrounded by her children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews and close family friends.

Flora Streeter was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers (Feltcher Merriweather, Billy Streeter and Freddie Streeter).

Flora will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
