Fletcher D. Norris, 81, of Provo, Utah, passed away at his daughter Shauna and son-in-law Kevin King's home, Sept. 9, 2007. Fletcher was born on September 2, 1926, to Thomas & Hortense Obray Norris in Paradise, Utah. He was the fifth of eight children. Fletcher served in the Navy in World War II. After completing his military service, Fletcher returned home to Paradise and married the love of his life Coye Tams on December 26, 1947. Fletcher worked for Mountain Bell Telephone where he retired in 1982. During his employment there Fletcher worked part-time in the construction trade. He worked with his sons teaching them the trade as they were growing up. Later in years Fletcher continued to be involved with his sons in the construction supply business. Fletcher loved and enjoyed many things including truck driving for his sons business, fishing in Alaska, hunting in Canada, vegetable gardening, and listening to his grandchildren playing musical instruments and singing. He enjoyed many cups of coffee over the years with friends, family and co-workers. He loved practical jokes...(always with a straight face) and loved to laugh. Fletcher will be missed deeply by all of us left behind. He leaves behind four children sons, Lanny (Sherry) Norris of Spanish Fork, Kim (Barb) Norris of Orem, Lex Norris of Provo; daughter, Shauna Lin (Kevin) King of Provo; 16 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Jeanette Hirst & Roberta Bowen both of Cache Valley. Fletcher was preceded in death by his wife, Coye Norris, December 30, 2005. The family wishes to express their deep appreciation for the care given to Fletcher by DaVita Dialysis Center and A-Plus Hospice and Home Care.
