Brownsville - Dr. Faustino "Tino" Garza went to be with The Lord Our Father on Wednesday, November 9th, 2016. He was born on August 30, 1937 in Laredo, Texas. He served our Nation honorably both in the U.S. Army and Navy Reserve. In 1966, Faustino graduated from The
University of Texas at Austin with a degree in pharmacy. Faustino married Adela Garcia in 1975 and they moved to Brownsville, Texas. Faustino attended La Universidad Autónoma de Tamaulipas, H. Matamoros, Tamps., where he attained his Medical Doctorate degree. Faustino and Adela opened and operated Tino's Prescription Shop in Brownsville since 1991, where they served thousands of clients over the years. He dedicated nearly fifty years to his profession of pharmacy. Faustino is preceded in death by his parents Amado and Consuelo, sister, Consuelo Gallego, and brother, Gilberto Garza. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 41 years, Adela, sons, Rene Faustino (Celia) and Jon David (Denise), daughters, Patricia Garza Burruss (John) and Tina Marie Polin (David), grandchildren, Amanda Scout, Andrea Renee, David Anthony, and Abigail Grace, as well as many other beloved family members. Visitation will begin at 4:00 P.M., full military honors at 6:30 P.M., followed by The Most Holy Rosary at 7:00 P.M. on Friday November 11th, 2016 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, November 12th, 2016 at St. Luke Catholic Church, Brownsville, Texas. A Celebration of Life will follow from 11:45 A.M. to 3:00 P.M. at 914 E. Los Ebanos Blvd., Brownsville, Texas.In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Dr. Faustino Garza Scholarship Endowment, Texas Southmost College, 80 Fort Brown, Brownsville, Texas 78520.
