It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Fatima Williams, beloved mother, grandmother, and educator. Fatima was born on June 8, 1951, in Atlanta, Georgia to her loving parents DeWayne King and Shirley Williams.
Fatima leaves behind her three devoted children, Denard King (Tracy King), Barbara Mellows (Richard Mellows), and Fredrick King. She was a cherished grandmother to seven grandchildren.
Throughout her life, Fatima dedicated herself to education, working at Sara Rawson Smith Elementary until her retirement in 2004. She was a passionate advocate for her community, volunteering with the United Way 211 organization. Fatima's commitment to excellence in education was recognized with the prestigious National Science Teacher Award.
When she wasn't shaping young minds in the classroom, Fatima enjoyed pursuing her hobbies of sewing, winemaking, and cooking. Her creativity and love for life shone through in everything she did.
Fatima will be remembered for her kind heart, unwavering dedication to her family and community, and her infectious laughter that brightened any room. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
