Evelyn Rose Fernandes, 92 of Homosassa, Fl entered into rest on October 15, 2016.Evelyn was born on October 11, 1924 in St. John, Washington the daughter of Theodore and Rachel Fournier. She started nurses training at W.S.C. but left after 1st semester to enter training at Truesdale Hospital in Fall River, Mass., January 1943, due to the nursing shortage. Graduated in May 1946. She was married to Anthony Fernandes. She worked at her profession, was registered in four states and raised four children. She loved her home, children, plants, birding and her profession. After a near fatal car accident in 1971, she retired from nursing and moved to Florida with her husband.Evelyn is survived by her loving husband of 70 years Anthony of Homosassa, one daughter Anna and her husband Michael Holland of both Fl. and Az., three sons John Fernandes and his wife Mary of Oregon, Alfred Fernandes and his wife Carol of Fl. and Edward Fernandes and his wife Renee of Az., one brother Arthur Fournier of Washington, 8 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. She will be missed by all.Evelyn was predeceased by her parents, brothers Theodore Jr., Norman, Alfred, Ralph, half-sister Dorea Morrison and half-brother Donald.Family requests memorial donations be made to 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
