Eugene Kenneth MorrisHoughton LakeEugene Kenneth Morris, 83, of Houghton Lake and formerly of Webberville passed away on Tuesday August 22, 2017 at Munson Healthcare Grayling Hospital.Gene was born on August 16, 1934 at the home of his parents, Oscar and Helen (Stormfeltz) Morris in Homestead Township, Benzie County, Michigan. He grew up in Benzie County and later moved to the Muskegon area. On March 22, 1953 Gene was married to Beverly June Cruson in Wolf Lake, Mi. He was a hard working man who sometimes worked as many as 3 jobs at a time. He was employed by Jorgensen Farms Elevator while working at a local Gravel Pit and was a Maintenance Supervisor for Motor Wheel for many years. Gene was a devoted family man and loved to have family around him. He loved to play euchre and poker or anything Bev wanted to beat him at. He was an avid outdoorsman and fisherman and loved teaching the grandchildren how to fish. He was also a handyman wrenching on anything that needed fixing. He was also   an excellent woodworker.Surviving Mr. Morris are his three daughters, Sandra (Rory) Bergin of Taylor, Debra (Keith) Golden of KY, and Kimberly (Luke) Lepard of MD; three sons, Donald (Ruth) Morris of Mason, David (Lori) Morris of Williamston, and Phil (Marianne) Morris of Mason; nineteen grandchildren; twenty two great grandchildren; brother, Art Morris of Ellsworth; sister, Marie Forrester of Suttons Bay; and many nieces and nephews. Gene was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Beverly June Morris; two brothers, Leon, and Don; and sister, Berniece. Funeral Services for Eugene Kenneth Morris will be conducted at 4:00 pm at Christler Funeral Home, Houghton Lake Chapel on Saturday August 26, 2017 with Visitation from 2:00 pm until the time of the service. Interment will be held at a later date at Highland Hillside Cemetery, Marion. Memorial contributions in memory of Gene are asked to be directed to the .
