Estella ChavezSan AngeloEstella Chavez went to be with the Lord on Jan. 5th, 2017 after a long battle with Alzheimer's. Estella was born on July 19, 1937 in Mertzon, Texas. She was a very hard working mom who was known to work two or three jobs at a time to provide for her three girls. Estella was a very generous and giving person who always did what she could to help others. Estella worked as a foster grandparent for the boys and girls club and was known as Grandma by all prior to be diagnosed with Alzheimer's. Estella's favorite past time was going to play bingo prior to her illness taking over. Estella could always be found driving her car on a hot sunny day drinking an ice cold Coca-Cola, and if she talked to you she always had an extra one that she would offer you in a cooler she carried with iced down cokes. Estella is survived by two sisters, Elida Lara from Big Lake, Texas, and Feliz Puentes from Odessa, Texas. Estella is also survived by three daughters, all of San Angelo: Lita and husband Joe De La Pena, Thelma and husband Chris Acevedo, and Ester and husband Gabriel Hernandez.
