Eric Hoganson, a long time member of the Canton community, passed away on April 19, 2026, at the age of 46. Born on February 10, 1980, Eric was known for his kind heart and generous spirit. He was a dedicated friend always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. Eric had a passion for music, books and movies. His taste was very eclectic in all of those things. In music, he enjoyed classical music as well as rap music. but he also listened to Bob Dylan and music from the 50s. Books were a big portion of Eric's life. Again, his tastes varied from philosophy, poetry, to books by Bukowski and Hemingway. The last book he was reading was "The Tao of Pooh". Movies were also of interest to Eric. He would often be heard quoting movie lines which he applied to any situation where it might be appropriate. He never forgot any words that he heard in songs, movies or books. Eric's biggest passion in life was fishing and deer hunting. He loved fishing in Florida. The world will be a sadder, quiet place without Eric. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, especially his parents and his brother, Jeff. His memory will live on through the lives he touched. Rest in joy and peace, Eric.
