Maglione, Elizabeth A.Elizabeth Ann Marie Maglione (née Luber) of Weston, CT passed away peacefully at home on December 8th surrounded by her loving family. Elizabeth was born on November 18, 1928 in the Bronx to the late John and Elizabeth Luber. She attended St. Nicholas of Tolentine grammar and high school and graduated from the College of New Rochelle. Shortly after, she married her husband, John, and they started their family. They moved to Weston in 1968 where she became an active member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish. A devout Catholic, her many contributions to the church included: Eucharistic Minister, President of the Women's Guild, planning many social trips and events, organizing the monthly senior luncheons, and creating beautiful crafts for the annual Christmas Bazaar to benefit the parish. A tireless advocate for the poor and infirm, she was an active volunteer at the soup kitchen in Norwalk and at Americares Homefront, and also made weekly visits to the sick at Norwalk Hospital. Elizabeth hosted many holiday parties, as well as her famous annual summer picnic. The immense love that she shared with all of her children and friends was unsurpassed...a powerful gift that will last forever. Elizabeth is survived by her loving children, Elizabeth Maglione, Diane Fraser Maglione, Joan McCoy, Sue DiCairano (Danny), John Maglione, Christopher Maglione (Noelle), and Jim Maglione (Judy), her many grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and sister, Joan Luber. In addition to her beloved husband John, she was predeceased by her brother, John Luber, her son-in-law, Robert McCoy, and her cousin, Kathryn English, who was like a sister to her. The family will receive friends in the Harding Funeral Home 210 Post road East, Westport, CT on Monday December 12, 2016 from 4 to 8 PM. Friends are invited to attend a funeral on Tuesday December 13, 2016 at 10:00AM meeting directly at St. Francis of Assisi Church 35 Norfield Road Weston, CT Interment will follow in Assumption Cemetery 73 Greens Farms Road Westport, CT.
