Elizabeth Joanna Reed, 75, of Finderne, New Jersey, United States, passed on to Heaven on Monday, April 13, 2020.  Liz was born on November 10, 1944. She graduated from The College Of New Jersey (formerly Trenton State College) and taught English and students in Special Education for 43 years in New Jersey and Florida.

Once retired, she and Vern moved to New Mexico. They enjoyed sight-seeing at such locations as the Hawaiian Islands, coffee plantations, and throughout the midwest. Liz was an avid reader and enjoyed coffee, exploring new restaurants, her jewelry, make-up, movies, dogs, and babies.  She looked forward to vacationing with her granddaughter Emily Elizabeth Balsamello, granddog Louie, son Jason, and daughter-in-law Melissa back in New Jersey. Emily has fond memories of “Nana Liz” making coffee and playing with her jewelry together. Liz suffered from Alzheimer's disease in her later years.  During final years when it was difficult for her to communicate, Mom would still always say to her son “Hi Jason” and “I love you too.” Liz was predeceased by her mother, Mili Calendoni, and father, Robert Reed.

The world has lost a very loving and caring person, as all who knew her would attest.  We will all miss her warmth and selfless attention to others, as it was her nature. Even after her retirement, students would still call and send her cards conveying their accomplishments and thanks which would make her smile and cry with heartfelt emotion.  She will be missed by all who knew her.
