Elizabeth "Betty" I. Steele, age 92, passed away on the morning of Sunday September 13, 2015, at Brookside Senior Living in Brookville, PA. She was born on May 4, 1923, to the late Edward and Nellie (McMan) Dorwarth, in Reynoldsville, PA. On April 14, 1948, in Reynoldsville, PA, she married Robert V. Steele. Robert preceded her in death on April 5, 2000. She was primarily a homemaker throughout her life. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, the Altar and Rosary Society, and 2 card clubs. Betty enjoyed crocheting, reading, crossword puzzles, and she loved her grandchildren. She is survived by 3 daughters, Rosemary (Ray Seitz) McFarland, of Crown, PA; Patricia (William) Thompson, of Brookville, PA; Jennifer (Douglas) Brocious, of Ringgold, PA; 1 son, Edward (Michele) Steele, of Fairview, PA; 1 sister, Margaret Simbeck, of St. Mary's, PA; 10 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by 2 sisters, Jane Murray and Helen Bell. Family and friends will be received  from 2 – 8pm, on Thursday, September 17, 2015, at the McKinney – d'Argy Funeral Home, 345 Main St., Brookville, PA, 15825. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, September 18, 2015, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 129 Graham Ave., Brookville, PA, 15825. Interment to take place at the St. Mary's Cemetery in Rose Twp., Jefferson County.
