GarthlyMarch 1, 1939 - November 6, 2017Willis, VAElizabeth Ann (Bacon) Garthly, 78, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus on November 6, 2017 at her home in Willis, VA with family by her side. She was born on March 1, 1939 to the late Dr. Harvey Bacon and the late Agnes Bacon Sparler. She is survived by her husband, Bill Garthly; her sister, Jeanne Thomas and her husband, Marshall, sister, Barbara Henson and her children, Deborah Warner and husband, Scott, Jeff Bender and wife, Sandy, Cord Hake, Noelle Marlowe and husband, Jason. She has seven grandchildren, Amy Burns (Dave), Philip Warner (Carrie), Jennifer Cherrington (Brian), Qian Wang (Tony), Alexis Clark (Russell), Liz Klindinst (Jon), Nicholas Doolittle(Sabrina); and 19 great-grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her son, Brian Bender.She had been a real estate agent in York prior to moving to VA. With her husband, Bill she founded and established Faith Mountain Farm in VA where they made and sold hand crafted soaps and lotions from goat milk. Her faith and family were her most precious priorities and she often reminded everyone to thank God always for both the good and bad.A memorial service will be held on November 17 at Grace Fellowship Church in York New Salem. Visitation with her family will be from 10-11 a.m. with the service at 11 a.m. Her Pastor, Brent Carrick from Calvary Bible Church in Dugspur, VA will officiate the ceremony.Memorial contributions may be sent in her honor to Mountain View Bible Camp, 1000 Double Cabin Road, Dugspur, VA 24325.
