Elizabeth Durant, beloved mother, grandmother, and cherished member of her community, passed away peacefully. She was the last surviving sibling of a large family, with 14 or 15 brothers and sisters, and her memory lives on through her children and extended family.

Elizabeth was proceeded in death by her husband, Willie Durant. Her legacy continues through her surviving children: Antonio Strickland (Donna), Freddie Strickaland (Jean),  Derrick Strickland (Janice), and one daughter: Timikia (Adam). She was a devoted grandmother and enjoyed the company of many grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

She dedicated over a decade of service as an usher at Great Young Zion Church in Memphis, Tennessee, under the pastoral guidance of Reverend Hackney. Elizabeth was also known for her work as a transportation director at MICHAH in Memphis, where she made significant contributions to the community prior to her retirement in 2020.

Elizabeth will be remembered for her unwavering faith, dedication to her church, and the love she shared with her family and friends. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
