CAMERON, Elizabeth "Betty" Wocknitz FordIt is with great sadness and heavy hearts we have said our final goodbye to OUR MOM, our greatest gift. Mom you were always there for ALL of us with an ear to listen, open arms, a smile, a chuckle, and a shoulder to cry on!!! We will forever and always miss you and remember you with love in our hearts. Elizabeth "Betty" Ford, Wocknitz, Cameron was born on June 1, 1931 in Lethbridge Alberta, her father a farmer and her mother a homemaker. Betty passed away peacefully on November 6, 2016 in Maple Ridge, BC, at Holyrood Manor. Betty married her first husband and moved to BC in 1949 raising a family of 6 children on her own, while working at Riverview Hospital. She was very involved with Soccer and Softball at the Concessions in Maple Ridge for many years. Her children and family were her number one priority in her life and she showed it, by always providing a wonderful meal and get togethers on a regular basis for all her family to enjoy. Betty married again in 1977 and enjoyed many years of happiness with her late husband Jock (John) Cameron. She was predeceased by her mother and father, Sarah and Buster Morden, her beautiful sister Dorothy Goeson, her wonderful friend and sister-in-law Madeline Ford, her daughter Sandra Clarkson, her son Dwayne Wocknitz, and Grandson Steven Willis. Betty is survived and always remembered by her loving family: brothers Keith Ford of Olds, Alberta and Dale (Ingrid) Morden of Lethbridge, Alberta; her son Don (Lana) Wocknitz, grandson Arlen (Caryn), granddaughter Shadow Rae (Shawn) Biln, grandson Jeremiah, granddaughter Renee (Chris); her daughter, Sally (Dave) Clayton, grandson Kyle, granddaughter Devon (Brad) Vey, grandson Derek (Dara); daughter Bonnie (Doug) Willis, granddaughter Shannon (Andrew) Haig; son- in-law Raymond Clarkson, grandson Colin (Sarah), grandson Ryan (Nicole), granddaughter Brianna (Jason) Tones; her son Darwin Wocknitz and grandsons Jeremy, Tyler, and Nicholas; her son John Wocknitz, grandsons Liam and Brett, and granddaughter Emma; her stepdaughter Barb (Cameron) Hayward, granddaughter Christina and Grandson Bradley. Betty also leaves behind 25 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren and many wonderful nieces and nephews who she loved very much. Betty touched the lives of many and was loved by all!! Mom you were our ray of sunshine on a cloudy day, our inspiration, our angel and our wonderful Mom who we will cherish always. Betty's family would like to extend their gratitude to Holyrood staff for the wonderful care and compassion that Mom received while staying in Holyrood Manor. The family is requesting that in lieu of flowers that you please donate to the cancer fund of your choice. A memorial is planned for November 27 at 1:00 p.m. at the Maple Ridge Seniors Centre at 12150 224th St, Maple Ridge. Please join us to celebrate OUR MOM.
