Elizabeth "Bette" Ann Ziemba, 76, of Kennewick, passed away on Thursday, May 10, 2007 at Prosser Memorial Long Term Care. She was born on April 10, 1931 in Renton, Washington to Jim and Lucinda (DeLaurentis) Massucco. She was raised by her sisters in Cle Elum after losing her mother at the age twelve. She graduated from Cle Elum High School in 1949. Bette married her high school sweetheart, Thomas Ziemba on November 24, 1951 in Cle Elum. The couple made their home in Ellensburg where they resided for thirty-seven years until moving to Kennewick in 2004. Bette was an accomplished homemaker who kept a nice clean tidy home, was an excellent seamstress and cook and loved gardening. She was a devoted wife and loving mother and grandmother. Bette is survived by her husband of fifty-five years, Thomas Ziemba of Kennewick; her daughters, Karen Richardson and her husband, Tim of Kennewick and Sandy Sears and her husband, Jim of Prosser; her son, Steve Ziemba and his wife, Stephanie of Kennewick; six grandchildren, Justin and Chandra Richardson of Kennewick, Kaylon and Colton Sears of Prosser and Jordan and Griffin Ziemba of Kennewick; her brother, Louis Massucco of Cle Elum; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters. Graveside inurnment services will be held on Thursday, May 24th, at 3:00 PM in the Laurel Hill Cemetery in Cle Elum. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Diabetes Association c/o Prosser Funeral Home (P.O. Box 409/ Prosser, WA 99350).
