Elizabeth Ann Yeater 1934 ~ 2016Beloved wife, mother and grandmother died on November 24, 2016 at the age of 81 in Sandy, Utah. Elizabeth "Betty" was born on November 30, 1934 in Denver, Colorado. She was the only child of Irl and Vera Shaw. She was raised in Westchester, CA and spent the last 17 years in St. George, UT. She was introduced to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints by good friends while attending high school, and remained a faithful and dedicated member her entire life.Betty was an amazing woman who was loved by all who knew her. She was always full of life and could make anyone smile. She was a beloved friend to many, comforting them by always lending a listening ear. One of her favorite pastimes was to entertain guests in her home and at her cabin near Duck Creek - always making friends and family feel welcomed and loved. She blessed many lives with her joyful spirit.Betty loved to play games into the wee hours of the morning and was an avid reader and collector of inspiring books and articles. She spent many years serving in the St. George LDS Temple baptistery with her husband, and she especially enjoyed helping the youth while they served there.In her early married life, Betty worked for United Airlines as a reservation agent. She also ran her own highly successful jewelry business for many years, and was a member of Toastmasters International for over a decade.She is preceded in death by her parents and her son Kirk (as an infant). Betty is survived by her husband Don; her four children, Randy (Melene), Wendy (Ken), Eric, and Lars (Angela); 14 grandchildren, Chris, Taylor (Diane), Brielle (Ben), Kendra, Craig, Trevor, Landon, Weston (Stephanie), Quentin, Corrine, Kaela, Madison, Brock, and Parker; 5 great grandchildren, Braelyn, Sloan, Emry, Ava, and Lennox.Friends and family are invited to share their condolences at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East Dimple Dell Rd. (10600 South) Sandy, Friday, December 2 from 12:30 - 1:30 pm with the Funeral Services starting at 2:00 in the Larkin Chapel.
