Elisa, was born in Oklahoma City, in July 1973. Elisa along with her family of blessings became a resident of Carson, California at the age of three. There she made lifelong friends with whom she enjoyed time at Del Amo Park, playing sports and simply enjoying life.
As an adult she continued the strong bonds with her childhood friends and enjoyed travel, outings, dinners and laughter. Lisa had an undeniable smile that would light up a room.
Elisa always spoke with passion and had a genuine interest in people, and an authentic empathetic nature. This led her to become an advocate in her community when she resided in Los Angeles California, as Block Captain of 104th. She was also appointed as a member of Southeast Neighborhood Development Council. Elisa lead in bringing together her neighbors and friends to create and build relationships that inspired compassion within the community.
After a hard fought battle against Multiple Myeloma, Elisa’s diagnoses expanded to a rare form of cancer, Plasma Cell Leukemia.
Elisa D. McGhee passed away in the comfort of her home at the age of 48. On Sunday, December 5, 2021, Elisa was called back to the Lord surrounded by her family, dear cousin Angelika Martinez-McGhee and closest friends.
Elisa was preceded in death by her father John McGhee and brother Kelvin McGhee.
She will be lovingly remembered by her mother Daisy McGhee, brothers Dereck McGhee and Marcus McGhee, and sister-in-law Joni McGhee. She will be missed by nieces Maya McGhee and Madison McGhee; Nephews Christopher McGhee, Kelvin McGhee jr., Omari McGhee, Jorden McGhee, and Jackson McGhee.
Elisa’s memory will remain in the hearts of her best friends Lameshia Pittman and Brandie Cole as well as a numerous amount of her closest “Carson” friends Tish Fahie, Angie Sims,Tamu Lyons and all those that grew up to love her; especially her dogson Diesel.
