Eleanor May Holland (Van Etten) of St. Augustine passed peacefully on Nov. 22, 2016. Eleanor was born on Jan. 8, 1932, to parents James Gilman Van Etten and Cora Elliott Van Etten in Allentown, Pennsylvania. Eleanor was preceded in death by her husband and love of her life, William Earl Holland. She is survived by two brothers, Horton Van Etten of Merrit Island, and James Van Etten of Elmer, New Jersey; one sister, Elizabeth Coyne of Lake Lure, North Carolina; five children, Gary Holland of Loxahatchee, Cynthia (Mike) Bethoney of Orlando, Debora Shapiro of Pitman, New Jersey, Barbara (Doug) Golden of St. Augustine, and Mark Holland of St. Johns; 12 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and several beloved nieces and nephews. A celebration of Eleanor's life will be from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Sunset Pavilion at Tomoka State Park in Ormond Beach.
