Mrs. Eleanor Louise Dillard departed this life at Golden Living Center-Battlefield Park, Petersburg, Va., on Friday, November 4, 2016. She was born on December 25, 1925, in Stony Creek, Va., to Thomas "Fella" Massenburg and Eva Massenburg.She graduated from Sussex Public Schools. At an early age she confessed Christ as her savior at Jerusalem Baptist Church in Jarratt, Va. She later joined Zion Baptist Church in Petersburg, under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Andrew J. White, Sr.She was experienced baker for Brown and Williamson Tobacco Company. She work from 4 a.m. to 1 p.m. daily of 33 years. She also baked for Morrison Cafeterias at Bellwood in Richmond.She was preceded in death by her husband, Whitt Dillard; and two brothers, Webster Massenburg and Haywood Massenburg.Left to treasure memories, one daughter, Ursula Loretta Dillard Shands (Therman); one granddaughter, Starr Telia Shands; sister/cousin, Everline Mason of Petersburg; three sisters-in-law, Susie Barnes Curtis of Philadelphia, Christin Massenburg of Stony Creek and Francis Dillard of Petersburg; many dedicated nieces, nephews, cousins and friends to include, the McCray Family (Robert) on Hilton Place, the staff at Golden Living Center-Battlefield Park (Susan) and St. John Baptist Church in Stony Creek; extended family Nola Harvell of Maryland, Otha and Hartence, Walter and Dorothy and Ralph and Viola Shands, all of Stony Creek, Otelia Ellis (John) of Ettrick, Shirley Shands, Sheriff Sam Shands (Carolyn) of Stony Creek, Mary King Pegram (Jim) of Petersburg, Therman L. "TL" Shands, Jr. of Maryland, Charlitta Thibodeux of Louisiana and Ruth Johnson; devoted team/helpers, Carnell Massenburg, Alvin Massenburg, Webster Massenburg, Jr., Roslyn Shands (Counselor), Renita Massenburg Courtney, Haywood "Peter" Massenburg, Jr. , Gracie Bailey, Lucille "Pudding" Massenburg, Barbara "Teddy Mae" Massenburg, Pharnoris M.
