Elaine Marie Rasmussen Elaine passed away on November 1, 2016 after her battle with Pancreatic Cancer. Elaine was born on June 14, 1955 in St. Paul, Minnesota to Thomas (second-mother Bettye) Echert and Marcia "Carol" Echert. She leaves behind her husband, Bill Rasmussen, daughter: Andrea (Cameron) Ashley, granddaughter: Olivia and son: Greg (Erica) Rasmussen, 2 brothers, 5 step-sisters, nieces, nephews and friends. Elaine worked for Metro Parks of Tacoma for 40 years before retiring last year. She was a member of St. John of the Woods Catholic church. She loved reading, collecting wind chimes, playing volleyball and softball and volunteering where she could. Her greatest passion was being with her family, spending time however she could with them. She was a special grandmother and loved every minute with Olivia. She was an amazing person who cared so much for others without ever wanting anything in return. She leaves a passion and a drive in those close to her to always live life to the fullest and open your heart to others. Elaine put up a tremendous battle for 18 months with Pancreatic Cancer, through 3 different chemo treatments and as a true fighter. In memory of Elaine, donations may be made to
support.pancan.org; click "Wage Hope My Way" click "Find a Fundraiser" and Search: Team Elaine and donate now to help fight Pancreatic Cancer Awareness. One of her last prayers was for all those fighting this terrible cancer to find a cure.
