Eileen Edith SamuelsonOur Beloved Mother, Eileen Edith Samuelson, 90, of Ellensburg, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, October 31, 2015. Eileen was born on April 14, 1925 in Glendo, Wyoming to William and Ida (McDow) McCoy. She was the youngest of nine children. In 1937, the family moved to Riverton, Wyoming, where she spent her childhood. In 1946, she married Keith Samuelson in Riverton, Wyoming at St. Margaret's Catholic Church. During their years together, they had five children; Diann, Curtis, Cletus, Susan and Edward. In the early years, the family lived in Laramie and Casper, Wyoming, Denver and Greeley, Colorado and then eventually settled in Ellensburg in 1964, Eileen and Keith became very involved 4-H leaders locally. They devoted many volunteer hours to this program and the community. Eileen had worked at St. Andrew's Catholic Church from 1965 - 1968. In 1968, she went to work as secretary and office manager for the Cooperative Extension Office, retiring in1985. During her retirement years, she was a very active member of the Fraternal order of the Eagles, where she held many of the organizations offices. Eileen had been a two time cancer survivor. She very much enjoyed her role as a grandmother to her six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She is lovingly survived by her daughter; Diann L. McCoy (Brantley) Paul, with grandchildren Deborah (Gordon) Anderson and Matthew (Nicole) Ellinger. 3 sons; Curtis K. (Arlene) Samuelson with grandchildren Keven (Jaime) Samuelson and Keenan Samuelson. Cletus L. (Jillanna) Samuelson with grandchildren Katielee Samuelson and Cole Samuelson. Edward E. Samuelson. Great grandchildren: Alexandria, Christian, Damien, Jayden, Jordyn, Georgina and Xavier.She was preceded in death by her husband, a daughter Susan Kay, a sister and seven brothers.Viewing will be held Thursday, Nov. 5, 2015, 11 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.at Brookside Funeral Home, 101 E. 2nd. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, Nov. 6, 2015, 11:00 a.m. at St. Andrew's Catholic Church. Private family interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
