Edward I. Sandberg1918 - 2014Edward Sandberg, 95, of Kenosha passed away peacefully on Monday, March 3, 2014, at his home surrounded by his family. Edward was born on May 30, 1918, in Kenosha, the son of the late Isdore and Emma (Kisskinew) Sandberg. He was educated in the schools of Kenosha. Edward was a member of the U.S. Army. He married Evelyn Christenson on April 5, 1949 in Reno, Nev. Edward was employed by Kenosha County for many years. Edward was a friend of the local 80th St. library for many years. His hobbies included playing cards, playing violin, square dancing and spending time with family and friends. Survivors include his children, Marney (Emory) Simms of N.C., Susan (Frank) Vasquez, Edward C. (Elizabeth) Sandberg, Cathy (Robert Bjorklund) Houtsinger, Karin (Eric) Christensen; a brother, Allen (Hella) Sandberg of Ontario, Canada; 20 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; and 13 great great grandchildren. Edward was preceded in death by his son, Roger Gorski, a daughter, Marlene Alfano, grandson, Marko Alfano, and a great grand-daughter, Brianna Vasquez. A visitation will be held on Friday, March 7, 2014, from 5-7 p.m. at Kenosha Funeral Services with funeral services to be held on Saturday, March 8, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. at Kenosha Funeral Services.
