MARON Deacon Edward Joseph, 90 years old, of Oradell, died suddenly on December 19, 2016. He was born on March 19, 1926 to Marino and Cessarina Maron. He grew up in Union City, NJ, was drafted into the Army in 1943 and then went on to attend New York University where he studied Civil Engineering. He had a long career with Lummus / Combustion Engineering, both working and living in the U.S, Canada, and Europe. He retired in 1986 and lived in both Sparta and Oradell, NJ. He was ordained a Deacon in the Roman Catholic Church in 1975 and was active at both the St. Joseph, Oradell, NJ, and Our Lady of the Lake, Sparta, NJ parishes. He was a warm and caring person that touched so many lives over the years. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Ann Maron of Oradell and their three sons and two daughters: Edward Maron and his wife Mary of Sudbury, MA; Michael Maron and his wife Diane of Oradell, NJ; Gerard Maron and his wife Christine of Oradell, NJ; Mary Ann Maron Ross and her husband Kenneth of Southlake,TX; and Theresa Maron Lindsay of Lake Placid, NY. He was predeceased by daughter Judene Maron Baglieri, of Rochester NY. He is also survived by his sister, Hilda Dievler of Tinton Falls, NJ. He is the proud grandfather of twenty grandchildren (thirteen boys and seven girls). Services will be at the Volk Leber Funeral Home, 268 Kinderkamack Rd., Oradell, NJ on Thursday, December 22, from 2-4 PM and from 7-9 PM. Funeral service from the funeral home at 9 AM Friday, then to St. Joseph Parish, Oradell, for a 10 AM Mass of Christian Burial. Interment to follow, Maryrest Cemetery, Mahwah, NJ.
