Edward JellisonAVONDALE: Edward Jellison, 91, of Avondale, passed away Thursday, August 6, 2015 at the Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center from complications due to dementia. He was born on May 15, 1924 in The Plains, Ohio a son of the late Allen and Beatrice Jellison. He served our country in the
United States Navy as a radioman aboard the USS-CCI ship during
World War II. He was employed by Columbia Cement Co. for 36 years and then worked as a federal mine inspector for the United States Government for seven additional years. He was a member of the East Fultonham United Methodist Church for 56 years. After retirement, he and his wife spent the next 14 winters in Yuma, Arizona. He enjoyed hunting, camping, and fishing with his family, especially at Lake Erie. He is survived by his wife, Esther Edwards Jellison; four children, Carol (Paul) Smith of Baltimore, Mark (Jamie) Jellison of Frazeysburg, Larry (Jeanne) Jellison of Quaker City, and Martha Sullivan of Lancaster; 11 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren, with one more on the way; one brother, Carl Jellison of Zanesville. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two great-grandchildren, Jordan Michael Jellison and Jackson Lee Jellison. Friends may call from 2-4 & 6-8 pm Sunday August 9, 2015 at WILLIAM THOMPSON & SON FUNERAL HOME 5765 Gladstone Drive White Cottage. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Monday August 10, 2015 at East Fultonham United Methodist Church with calling hours one hour prior to the service. Rev. Clyde Boring officiating. Burial will follow in Zanesville Memorial Park where Zanesville
VFW Post #1058 will conduct military honors.
