Edward was born on November 25, 1930 in Paducah, Cottle County Texas, the eldest son to Ernest and Lometa Harris, where he grew up on a farm in Delwin, Texas. He entered Eternal Rest on April 22nd 2017 at UMC in Lubbock, TX. He served his Country during the Korean War, and was stationed in San Diego, when he was discharged; where he met his future wife, Marianne Koster. He remained in San Diego working as machine operator for Ryan's Aircraft and raised three children. Throughout his stay in California, he had dreams of returning to his family after they moved to Carlsbad, New Mexico. Edward moved to Carlsbad, NM in 2008 after 54 years in San Diego, CA; to be closer to his family after his retirement and the passing of his wife, eldest son, and daughter. His Hobbies were: Camping, Hunting, Fishing and spending time with Family and Friends. He is survived by his son, David and Wife; Renate of Colorado Springs, CO: brothers; Billy and Wife; Anita of Wilson, OK, Raymond, Johny and Wife; Linda, Larry and Wife; Debbie, and Roger all of Carlsbad: sisters; Ernestine Bryan and Husband; Tommie of Carlsbad, Lena Cooper and Husband; Willis of Mesa, AZ, and Shirley Crabb and Husband; Bill of Carlsbad. He has four Grandchildren, along with numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marianne Harris; eldest son, Joseph; daughter Rita Swank all of San Diego, CA; Parents Ernest and Lometa; brother, Charles Wayne; and sisters, Rosie Cravey and Marie Eudey. A Memorial Celebration of Life Service will be held in Carlsbad, New Mexico, at Sunset Church of Christ, 11:00 am, on May 5th with Brian McGonagill officiating.
