  • A life well lived

Here lies Edd Evan Curry, who surprisingly managed to survive a lifetime of questionable decision-making and wild antics until his demise on August 3, 2024 in Mesquite, Nevada.

Born on September 13, 1945 to Edd Houston Curry and Vida Hughes Curry, in Las Vegas, Nevada, Edd inherited a love for mischief and a knack for stirring up trouble. In 1968, he married his high school sweetheart, Coe Ann Mitchell, who predeceased him in 2007.

Edd leaves behind three children: Denna Michelle Bordelon, (Jay) of Keithville, Louisiana, Evan Mitchell Curry, (Lisa) of Greenwood, Louisiana and Edd Houston Curry of Mesquite, Nevada. He leaves behind three grandchildren Evan Curry, Levi Curry and Kasha Kupisch who will undoubtedly carry on his legacy of chaos. In addition to three great-grandchildren, Edd is also survived by his sister, Mary Ella Horn.

After graduating from Virgin Valley High School in 1963, Edd somehow managed to survive a year of schooling at Dixie State College in St. George, Utah. Despite his many mishaps, Edd served his country proudly as a Corporal in the United States Marine Corps. His fellow Marines will undoubtedly raise a glass in his honor, and perhaps share a few stories that are fit for his memorial, and not much else. He then embarked on a successful career with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, where he undoubtedly added to their collection of amusing stories.

When he wasn't causing chaos at work, Edd could be found indulging in his favorite hobbies of fishing, hunting, boating, water skiing or just floating around in the sunshine listening to oldies. His adventures on the water were legendary and often ended with him needing to be rescued.

In addition to his professional and recreational pursuits Edd found happiness and companionship in his relationship with his longtime girlfriend, Valerie Butterworth.

So here's to Edd Evan Curry, a man who lived life to the fullest and never met a challenge he wouldn't tackle head-on, regardless of the potential consequences. Rest in peace, Edd. And may your antics live on in the stories told by those who love you and knew you best.
