Ed James Houghage 80, of Indianapolis, passed away on Sunday, June 25, 2017, at Community Hospital North.  He was born on May 12, 1937 in Wilmore, KS as the son of Charlie and Mary (Guder) Hough.  He graduated from Marshall High School in 1955, and was a U.S. Army veteran.  He married Danna (Smiley) on June 14, 1959. Ed worked as a drywall contractor for 58 years.  He attended Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church. He was a horseshoe state champion and enjoyed square dancing, gardening, fishing, and watching the Florida waters. Most of all, he loved spending time with family and friends, especially his grandchildren. Ed is survived by his wife, Danna Hough of Indianapolis; children, Tonta (Rick) Shank of New Palestine, Edie (Tim) Horan, of New Palestine, Suzanne (Todd) Dill of Logansport and James (Tobi) Hough of Fairland; siblings, Don (Carolyn) Hough and Ruby Morrison; sister-in-law, Rebecca Hough; brother-in-law, Randy (Gail) Smiley; grandchildren, Mandy (Scott) Hardin, Natalie (Charlie) Bailey, Richard (Ashley) Shank, Stephen (Jess) Horan, Craig (Kate Lumpkin) Shank, Stephanie Dill, Kinsey Bussell, Taylor (Damon) Foreman, Casey Bussell, Victoria (Jordan) Perry, Belle Hough, Amelia Hough, Lydia Hough, Lila Hough and Mattyas Hough; great-grandchildren, Gideon Perry, Audrey Perry and Harrison Foreman; and many nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Mary; four brothers and two sisters; grandchild, Landis Bussell; and great-grandchild MacKenzie Dill-Fisher.Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 28, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140.  A funeral service will be held on Thursday June 29, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. with viewing one hour prior the service at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, 3718 E. Blue Ridge Rd., Shelbyville, IN 46176.  Pastor Robb Barlow will be officiating.  Burial will follow at 2:00 p.m. at New Palestine Cemetery in New Palestine with full military rites presented by the Greenfield Veteran Honor Guard.Friends may share a memory or a condolence at www.erleweinmortuary.com.
