He was born by faith into God's family on January 24, 1963, at 21 years old. Wayne married Phyllis Babb on July 2, 1968, in Phoenix, AZ. Together, they raised 6 boys in rural Silverton, OR and later moved into their own home in Salem, OR, in 2007. Wayne was self-employed as a general contractor--steel and wood structures all over the valley attest to that. If you met him and didn't get a bible tract and a gentle word about your soul, then maybe it wasn't Wayne. Wayne's life centered on his identity in Christ. A gentleman and full of grace-if he met you, he truly cared for you.Wayne is survived by his sons, Nathanael (wife, Kimberly), Daniel (wife, Ruth), Ethan, Andrew (wife, Trina), and Seth (wife, Doris). Also, his sisters, Jan Todd, Beverly Speicher, Brenda Simmons, and his brother, Verlin; along with 14 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He was preceded by his son, Joseph; and wife, Phyllis. Also, his sister, Nona; and his brother, Glenn.A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 16, 2017, at 1:00 p.m. in Salem, OR at the Salem Gospel Hall.
