Douglas Chester Donaldson passed away on March 11, 2025, in Lincolnton, North Carolina. Born on August 7, 1956, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Douglas lived a life grounded in service and faith.
He served his country with honor as a United States Marine for ten years, rising to the rank of Sergeant. His time in the military reflected a steadfast commitment to duty and discipline values that guided him throughout his life.
Douglas is lovingly remembered by his daughters, Amanda Donaldson and Rachel Kinney. He also leaves behind three sisters: Dana Baig, Deanna Donaldson, and Dolores Hare. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Donaldson; mother, Betty Ray Donaldson; brother, Dennis Donaldson; and sister, Debbie Slater.
A funeral service honoring Douglas’s life will be held on April 2, 2025, from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM at Salisbury National Cemetery, located at 202 Government Road, Salisbury, North Carolina 28144.
