Dorothy S. HarringtonRedding, CADorothy, 90, went home to Jesus, her mother, her father, two brothers, two sisters and her great-grandson on April 3, 2016 after a long illness. Dorothy was born on April 18, 1925 in Homestead, PA. She was one of eight children who lived half of their childhood as orphans. Both mom and dad died at a young age. Thank God for her older sister Nedda who finished raising them.Shortly after World War II she married a war hero named Jim Harrington. They had one daughter and three sons. In 1952 they moved to Hawthorne, CA. Later moving to Torrance, CA where they raised their children.Dorothy was a Social Worker for the county of Los Angeles. She moved to Redding thirty years ago. She was a member of St. Joseph's Church and belonged to the Catholic Daughters. Dorothy led a long faith filled life. Her family misses her dearly.Dorothy is survived by her children, Deanne Edwards of Redding, James and Timothy Harrington of Sacramento and Jeff Harrington of Gearheart, OR. She also leaves behind ten grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren and her loving sisters Nedda, Jeannie and Lucille.We love you Mom and know you are finally at peace. We won't say good bye, but see you later in Paradise.
