Dorothy Patricia Meyers NordellHuntington Beach, CADorothy Patricia Meyers Nordell, of Huntington Beach, CA, formerly of New Brunswick, St. Peter's H.S. Alumni, Class of '48, passed away January 1, 2017 in Hemet, California. Mrs. Nordell was born on September 10, 1930 in New Brunswick, NJ to John and Sara Meyers. She was preceded in death by her sister, Margaret Bernard, of Lawrenceville, NJ. She married Frank Nordell in 1973, after which they relocated to Huntington Beach, CA.Dottie, as she was known by her close friends, was very active in her church, St. Vincent DePaul and also volunteered at a local hospital in Orange County. She loved to travel and spend time with her grandchildren.Dottie is survived by her sister, Joan Esgro of FL; children Edward Maroon of NJ, Jayne Flores of CA, and Patricia Buckley of NJ/FL; three granddaughters, Stephany Laulu of CA, Kimberly Maroon of MA and Kathryn Gydupling of NJ; and four great-grandchildren, Tavionna Hoy, Taliyah Laulu, T'Írie Laulu and Max Gydupling.A memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Bartholomew's Church, 470 Ryders Lane, East Brunswick, NJ on Saturday, June 3, at 10 AM.Dottie's favorite charities were the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Mercy House and the Alzheimer's Association
