Dorothy MurphreeOctober 13, 1921 - April 21, 2017Dorothy Murphree, 95, of Waverly, Iowa, and formerly of Grand Junction, Colorado, passed away on Friday, April 21, 2017, at Bartels Lutheran Retirement Community in Waverly, Iowa. Dorothy T. (Throop) Murphree was born on October 13, 1921, in Fort Lupton, Colorado, the daughter of Walter Clyde and Elsie (Kipp) Throop. On February 16, 1962, she was united in marriage to Emmett E. Murphree in Houston, Texas. She enjoyed tole painting and sewing.She is survived by daughter, Susan Hanright of Nashua, Iowa; 11 grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Emmett Murphree; daughters, Carolyn Gray and Barbara Ransom and brother, Lawrence Throop.
