Dorothy Faye Bishop LUBBOCK-Dorothy Faye Bishop, 79, of Lubbock, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2016. She was born on March 23, 1937, to Raymond Bishop and Frankie Jackson in Dawson, Texas. She moved to Lubbock at an early age with her parents. Dorothy attended Lubbock ISD and graduated from Dunbar High School. She was a member of Praise Center Ministries. Dorothy leaves to cherish her memories: six daughters, Carolyn Brigham, Sandra Bishop, Janet Jackson Johnson, LeeAnn Smith, Stacy Smith and Marsha Lewis; two sons, Dewitt Donnell Bailey and Vernon Ray Bishop; two sisters, Christine Jackson and Dorothy Nell Jackson; one brother, Ben Jackson, Jr.; 22 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Celebration of life service will be held Monday, Nov. 14, 2016, at 1 p.m. at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the City of Lubbock Cemetery under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. Visitation will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. today at Griffin Mortuary.
