Dorothy Louise (Pimentel) Beagle passed April 27, 2015 after a lengthy battle with ovarian cancer. 

Dorothy Beagle was the daughter of an industrious farming family. Her parents were Louis and Maria Pimentel, immigrants from the Azores. She was born and raised in Milpitas, California. She attended a lovely one room school (Airpoint) on Calaveras road, then Milpitas Grammar school, then graduated from James Lick High School. She fell in love and married Clyde A. Beagle Jr. and became wife to who would become a career U.S. Navy officer, Lt. Commander Clyde A. Beagle Jr. who passed March 8th, 2005. Dorothy Beagle was the ultimate mother. Successfully raising three children, sometimes on her own as Clyde was often away on Navy Flight missions. 

Mom's career started in Banking, at Bank of America in San Jose. She also worked at Wells Fargo bank, at many branches and held positions from teller to Operations Manager. She also worked for Bank of Salinas and First National Bank. When she left banking, she was still active in the financial world as a critical employee at an Agriculture company's payroll department. She also became a testing coordinator to make sure people weren't consuming pesticides with their vegetables!

Once Dorothy retired, she did not stop working. She volunteered and was a board member who was critical in helping Redwings Horse Sanctuary in CA. She helped what was a small startup/grass roots organization grow to one that was known nationwide and in some regards, worldwide. 

From there, she didn't stop helping others. She went on to help the Castroville, Ca. Salvation Army become much more organized. She helped with the food bank and other critical operations.

She was member to many organizations over the years, and was proud to be in each one. 
Most recently she was with the Rotary Club in Castroville, Ca.

She was a long standing member of the Choir for Our Lady of Refuge Catholic Church, and a supporter of the Music Program at Our Lady of Refuge Catholic Church.


Even Cancer had to take the back seat to her energy. She went through Chemo with a positive attitude. She went into surgery with expectations of survival and seeing more of her future with her grandson and great grandson. This is where the battle truly began. From from surgery she had an extended stay in ICU. Here, her children took on part of her journey to make it through her initial recovery. During her rehabilitation, we were able to enjoy Mom's humor and wisdom for many months before cancer took her life.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Louis Pimentel.

She is survived by her Daughter Michelle, Sons Curtiss (Angie) and Kyle (Gladys), and Grand Daughter Jennifer, Grand Son Alexander, Great Grandson Christopher and 2 Sisters, Emily Pimentel and Elenora Pimentel..
