Dorothy LaRae Bailey Owen, 85, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2014, in Glendale, Idaho. She was born on Oct. 29, 1929, in Pocatello, Idaho, to Charles Kerr and Ada Andersen Bailey. She married Lester Owen on Oct. 28, 1948, in The Logan LDS Temple.Dorothy was a member of the DUP, and she served as the historian for 23 years. She was also a camp president. She like to ride motorcycles with her husband, and they enjoyed many trips together. She liked boat trips and playing games with her grandchildren. She enjoyed embroidering dish towels and pillow cases and always liked making homemade bread and rolls. She is survived by her children Susanna Owen, of Idaho Falls, Idaho; Louella (Cornelius) Von Niederhausern, of Tooele, Utah; Thomas (Lori) Owen, of Blackfoot; Carl (Roxanne) Owen, of Idaho Falls; Ronald (Lucy) Owen, of Preston, Idaho; Daniel (Kathy) Owen, of Rexburg, Idaho; Mark (Kaylene) Owen, of Preston; Darlene (Brett) Downs, of Downey, Idaho; Eileen Archibald, of Idaho Falls; and Earl (Lynette) Owen, of Elko, Nevada; 43 grandchildren and 90 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by three brothers, Steven Bailey, Larry Bailey and Ralph Bailey. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Lester, and a daughter LaRae. Funeral services will be at noon on Tuesday, Nov. 18, at in the Preston North Stake Center, 310 N. State Str. in Preston. A viewing will be from 6-8 p.m. Monday at Webb Funeral Home, 1005 S. 800 East in Preston, and from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Tuesday at the stake center. Interment will be in the Preston Cemetery.
