Dorna L. Porter age 102 of Ellensburg WA passed away on Tuesday, May 6, 2008 at Cedar Hills in Yakima, WA. She was born on October 14, 1905 in Tacoma, WA the daughter of Alta and Loren Holbrook. On June 3, 1925 she was united in marriage to Gerald S. Porter in Thorp, WA she is survived by her two daughters, Geraldine Creed of Milton, WA and Marilyn J. Corbin of Yakima, WA; 9 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Her husband Gerald S. Porter preceded her in passing in June of 1972. She was also preceded in death by her grandson, Brian Smythe. Dorna and Gerald raised Geraldine and Marilyn in Thorp, WA and moved to Ellensburg in October 1943. She resided in her home until the age of 100 at which time she moved to Yakima. Dorna worked for Kittitas County as a clerk in the treasurer's office for many years and retired in 1970. Her husband Gerald was the Kittitas County Clerk until his retirement in 1971. Dorna was a lifetime member of the Eagles Lodge#2220 in Ellensburg and also the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge#494. Grandma loved her cats, dancing, and music of any kind, her ducks in the creek, her piano and her family friends. She lived to see many changes in her home on Water ST. The creek provided her many hours of enjoyment from her kitchen window. Graveside services for Dorna will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2008 at 1:30 pm at the Thorp Cemetery in Thorp, WA. Fellowship of her life will be held at the Eagles Lodge #2220 in Ellensburg directly after the graveside service. Memorials may be made to the charity of choice. Arrangements are under the care of Steward & Williams Tribute Center in Ellensburg. Rest in peace Grandma. We will meet you at the "Rainbow Bridge". Your time is finally here! WE LOVE YOU.
