ALBION — Doris M. Mangus, 89, of rural Albion, IN, passed away on February 21, 2015, in Ft. Wayne, IN. She was born on December 19, 1925, in Massillon, Ohio, to Charles and Clara (Burliyoung) Rohr. She married James Mangus on April 26, 1947, in Massillon, Ohio. He preceded her in death in July of 2010. Doris is survived by 2 daughters: Barbara (David) Middleton of Ft. Wayne, IN, and Sharon Strater of Ft. Wayne, IN; 5 grandchildren: Eric Strater, Kristi (David) Stroder, Kevin (Tracy) Strater, Steven Middleton and Matthew Middleton; and 5 great-grandchilren. Also surviving are a brother, Robert Rohr, and a sister, Jean Hawk, both of Massillon, Ohio. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Rebecca Mangus, in 2010, and a son, Steven Mangus, in 1964. Doris graduated from Washington High School in Massillon, Ohio, in 1943. After her marriage in 1947, she moved to Noble County. She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Albion. Doris was previously very active in the Blessed Sacrament Rosary Sodality and Noble County Extension Homemakers Clubs. She was employed with Monsanto, Inc., the Noble County Extension Office and Walmart in Kendallville. Doris loved her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, her grand-dog, Diesel, and she enjoyed cooking. A Mass of Christian Burial in her honor will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, February 25, 2015, at Blessed Sacrament Church in Albion, IN. Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday, February 24, 2015, from 4-7 p.m. at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway South, Ligonier, IN 46767, and one hour prior to the funeral at the church. A Rosary will take place at the funeral home on Tuesday at 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be given to the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church Building Fund, 2290 S.R. 9, Albion, IN 46701.
