Doris Lea ComptonDoris Compton, 87, passed away on Friday , August 4. She was born on June 26, 1930, to Carl and Lola Roy in Stone County, Missouri. Doris lived a fulfilling life with her husband of almost 70 years and her family. In her early years, she worked at a garment factory and a cold storage plant in Marionville, MO. She later worked in the healthcare profession. She could also be counted on to rake hay while canning garden produce, raising three kids and many grandchildren. Upon retirement, she and Floyd moved to Springfield and enjoyed traveling and family. She is survived by her son Ronald D. Compton (Carol Scheetz) of Topeka, Kansas, and daughters Connie Compton (Dave Camey) of Springfield, Missouri, and Ann Rauch (Bill) of Billings, Missouri. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Compton, who passed on June 3 of this year.Visitation and funeral for Doris will be held in Meadors Funeral Home, 304 E. Drive St., Clever, MO: visitation on Monday, August 7 at 5:30-7:30 pm.; funeral on Tuesday, August 8 at 10:30 am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Union Ridge Cemetery, in care of Dwight Gilmore, 553 Richwood School House Road, Clever, MO 65631, or left at the funeral home.
