Doris Farnsworth Christensen, 90, passed away peacefully at home on March 13, 2013, in Elwood, Utah, surrounded by her family. Doris was the youngest child born on July 10, 1922, in Fielding, Utah, to Leo Ezra and Ruby Lovina (Richards) Farnsworth. She grew up in Fielding, Utah, with her six siblings. She graduated, in 1939, from Bear River High School in Garland, Utah.She married Allen C. Christensen (Ace) in the Logan LDS Temple on May 21, 1947. They were blessed with two children: Timothy Jay and Rebecca ("Becki").Doris was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She proudly served many callings in the church including: Ward Librarian, Relief Society Historian, Primary President and Miamaid advisor. Doris has a great love of the Gospel and was always a great example to her family and friends in her faith and service.Doris loved to work. In addition to working in the yard and gardening, she has held various jobs over the years: JC Penney's, raising mink, owner of DreamGirl Hair Fashions, and babysitting. She loved organizing, creating displays, singing with her sisters, working on genealogy, decorating, writing life histories and scrapbooking. She also enjoyed watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren play baseball, piano recitals, and dance. She was known to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren as "Grandma Nanny."Doris is survived by her loving husband AC. Christensen, her son Tim (Margaret) Christensen, son-in-law Ross Barnes, sister Carmen Boss, seven grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents Leo and Ruby Farnsworth, brother Sid Farnsworth, and Sisters: Cleo Wood, Irene Wood, Faye McMurdie and Maxiene Gardner. She was also preceded in death by her loving daughter Rebecca.The family would like to extend a special thank you to those who helped Doris during the last few weeks, the staff at Primrose, Teresa Woolley and Lydia.Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. March 18, 2013, in the Elwood LDS Church (4865 W. 9600 North, Elwood, Utah). A viewing will be prior to funeral services from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Elwood LDS Church. Interment will be in the Elwood Cemetery.
