Doris Maxine (Matzur) Blue1939 - 2013Doris Maxine (Matzur) Blue, 73, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2013, in Fort Wayne, Ind. Doris was born on Sept. 29, 1939, in Kenosha, Wis., she was the daughter of Dorothy M. (Engstrom) Matzur and Elmer Matzur. She graduated from Mary D. Bradford High School in 1957, in Kenosha, Wis., and then attended Spenserian Business School in Milwaukee, Wis. She moved to Fort Wayne in 1965, and married Ronald D. Blue on March 13, 1965. She was employed by U.S. Naval Base Great Lakes, Ill., and VA Medical Center of Fort Wayne, retiring in 1995. Doris and her husband Ron, owned and operated The Solomon Mier Manor Bed and Breakfast in Ligonier, Ind., from 1988 to 2007. Doris was a member of First Wayne Street United Methodist Church, Fort Wayne. She enjoyed antiques, dear friends, bridge, flower gardening, her step-children and especially her only grandchild, Skyler Blue. She is survived by her husband, Ronald Blue; step-children, Christopher (Laura) Blue of Columbia Lakes, TX, Shawn Blue of Fort Wayne, Ind., Angela Blue of Kingwood, TX.; grandson, Skyler Blue; brother, Jim (Wendy) Matzur of Kenosha; and nephew, Jason Matzur of Fort Meyers, Fla. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dorothy M. and Elmer Matzur. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Wayne Street United Methodist Church (300 East Wayne St., Fort Wayne, IN 46802) or First Methodist of Kenosha. A celebration of life gathering will be held at the Boat House Restaurant on Sunday, Sept. 29, 2013, at 1 p.m. with Pastor TimBerlen officiating.
