KINSTON - Dorine Noble Harper passed away peacefully at home on Monday, May 20, 2013, surrounded by family members. She was born on January 27, 1917, to parents Benjamin and Dora Mae Davenport Noble. In addition to her parents, Dorine was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Thomas Ivey Harper; son Thomas Jefferson Harper; five brothers, Adrian Earl Noble, John Martin Noble, Kenneth Ray Noble, James Benjamin Noble and Kermit Magnus Noble; and sister, Ruby Lee Noble Ervin. Surviving are her daughter, June Harper Merrill and husband Kerney; daughter-in-law Katherine Warren Harper; granddaughters Mary Katherine Harper Armsby and husband Duncan, and Rebecca Dorine Harper Cornelius and husband Jonathan; grandson Thomas Ray Taylor and wife Ann Toomes; great-grandchildren Brittney Armsby and Nathan Armsby, Alison Johnson and husband Jonathan, and Lacy Hodge and husband Chad; great-great-grandchildren Charley Hodge and Mady Hodge; and sisters-in-law, Louise Noble and Bryce Noble. Dorine will be remembered as a loving and devoted farm wife and mother, and a proud Southern lady who gave her time to her husband, her children and her grandchildren. She was a member of the Woodington United Methodist Church. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. before the service. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 23, 2013, at Howard-Carter Funeral Home with the Reverend Dennis Armsby officiating. Burial will follow at Pinelawn Memorial Park.
