DONALDINA (DOLLY) LEEOctober 13, 2017Donaldina (Dolly) Cameron Lee of Fort Myers FL passed away peacefully at her home on Friday October, 13, 2017. Dolly was born on April 20, 1928 in Hartford CT, the youngest of seven children. Dolly's parents were recent immigrants and the only Chinese family resident in Hartford. She was the namesake for Donaldina Cameron, a San Francisco based Presbyterian missionary, credited for saving over 3,000 Chinese immigrant girls and women from indentured servitude in the early 1900s aka, the "Angry Angel of Chinatown".Dolly has now rejoined the love of her life, Jim G. Lee. They spent nearly every hour of every day during their 69+ years of married life together. As small business owners they operated a grocery store in Harlem, followed by restaurants in Brooklyn and New Jersey. Dolly's outgoing personality and love of people were instrumental to their business success. They eventually retired and settled in Fort Myers.Dolly is survived by her son, Jeff and daughter-in-law Betty of Charlotte NC, son, Doug of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., and son, Jim Jr. of Ft. Myers, Fla. Her grandchildren, include Jennifer and her husband Lance Johnson, Jeff Jr. and his wife Kate, Rachel, Christina, Cady and Jimmy. Her great-grandchildren are Aston, Stellyn and Logan.Dolly benefitted from the loving care of Francine Flakes and her daughter Marian. Their dedication to her made them a part of her extended family.A Memorial Service will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Saturday, November 4, 2017 in the Chapel located on the grounds of Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Blvd., Fort Myers, FL 33907.
