Donald was born on December 6, 1930 in Ballinger, Texas to Joe and Edna Bennett. He married Charlene West on December 25, 1950 in Ballinger. In 1991 Donald retired from West Texas Utilities after 37 years of service. Survivors include his wife, Charlene Bennett; sisters, Doris McWilliams, Sharon Stilley, and Nancy Hampton; son, Charles Bennett and wife, Patricia; daughters, Diana Kahl and husband, Gene, and Shirley Stevenson and husband, Gary; two granddaughters, Jennifer Blackshear and Kimberly Palmer; two grandsons, Jeremy Kahl and Jason Stevenson; and 14 great-grandchildren.
