Donald Herbert Bolen of East Tawas passed away on Thursday, Jan. 19, 2012, age 73 years. Don was born on Dec. 17, 1938 in East Tawas to John Thomas and Helen Victoria (nee Klenow) Bolen Sr. He graduated from high school in 1956 and then began working with Bolen Trucking, where he remained employed for more than 40 years. Don truly enjoyed spending time with all of his family and friends and will be sadly missed by all who knew him. He was also a parishioner of Holy Family Catholic Church in East Tawas. On June 19, 1965, he married his wife Diana "Joe" (nee Wark) in East Tawas at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Together, they celebrated 46 years of marriage. Don is survived by his wife, Diana "Joe" Bolen of East Tawas; their four children, Susan (Matt) Meyer of East Tawas, Don (Nancy) Bolen of Cheboygan, Diane (Paul) Hartsig of Dowagiac and JoAnn "Joie" (Dave) Johnson of South Bend, Ind.; seven beloved grandchildren, Whitney, Kaytlin, Jenna, Lewis, Mae, Trevor and Millie; one brother, Mike (Janice) Bolen of East Tawas; two sisters, Kathleen Bolen of East Tawas and Judy (Roger) Brasseur of Saginaw; and many nieces, nephews and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents John and Helen Bolen; and four brothers, Tom Bolen, Bernie Bolen, Jim Bolen and Bob Bolen. Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, Jan. 23, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in East Tawas. His family will welcome friends at the church on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral mass. Visitation was on Sunday from 2 to 8 p.m. at Buresh Funeral Home in Tawas City. The Rosary was prayed at 7 p.m. that evening. Interment will take place in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
