Novak, Donald AlvinDonald Alvin Novak, 84 years old of Hammond, Louisiana, passed away on Wednesday, October 5, 2016 in Hammond. He was born on Sunday, May 15, 1932, in Manitowoc, Wisconsin to Alvin Novak and Mary Krajnek Novak. Donald worked for A & P Dairy and transferred his family to Louisiana in the 70's. Donald volunteered at North Oaks Hospital for 19 years and was a member of the Hammond Knights of Columbus Council 2952. He enjoyed life and loved bowling, traveling and manicuring his yard but especially loved spending time with his family.Donald is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy Lang Novak, his daughters, Debra Minkus and her husband Mike, Therese Barras and her husband Sid and Lynn Threeton and her husband Ronnie, his grandchildren, Angela Threeton, Gwen Barras, Breanna Threeton, Katie Barras, AnaClare Barras, Christopher Threeton and Sofie Barras, all from the Hammond and Lake Charles area of Louisiana and his brother, Richard Novak of Shiocton, Wisconsin, and many close friends.He is preceded in death by his parents, Alvin Novak and Mary Krajnek Novak.A Visitation for Donald will be held on Saturday, October 8, 2016 from 9:00 am until 11:00 am at Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Hammond. A Funeral Mass Celebrating Donald's Life will immediately follow visitation at 11:00am in the church. Entombment will follow at Rose Memorial Park Cemetery in Hammond.In lieu of flowers the family wishes memorial donations be made to the 3445 N.
