Dona DanaherAnkenyDona Marie Danaher passed away peacefully on October 22, 2016 in Ankeny, Iowa. She was born on November 23, 1929 in Waukon, Iowa to Francis and Mary (Fahey) Zoll.Dona grew up in Waukon and graduated from St. Patrick's High School in 1947. She was employed by the Ankeny State Bank, The Federal Reserve Bank, and for many years in Continuing Education at The Des Moines Area Community College in Ankeny.Dona married Thomas Danaher on November 23, 1950, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Waukon on her 21st birthday. They were married for 33 years until the time of Tom's death.Dona was a member of Our Lady's Immaculate Heart Catholic Church, DMACC Pioneers and Ankeny Woman's Club. Golfing, traveling, reading and gardening were activities that Dona enjoyed.Dona was preceded in death by her husband, Tom, parents, Francis and Mary Zoll, her brother Donald and his wife, Betty and her grandsons, Matthew (Matt) Pickart and John Pickart, and a nephew Christopher Zoll.Dona's children are: James (Barb), Perry, Iowa, Kathy (Dean), Strawberry Point, Iowa and Kevin (Charles Murrow) of Des Moines, Iowa. Dona's grandchildren are Ann (Pickart) Klein of Ankeny, Iowa, Mark (fiancé, Jessica) of Denver, Colorado, Katie (Pickart) Alshouse, Arlington, Iowa, Tony Pickart of Denver, Colorado, Mary Pickart of Los Angeles, California, Kelly (Danaher) Olson of Johnston, Iowa and Trisha (Danaher) Olson of Ankeny, Iowa Great grandchildren, Matthew and Lauren Klein, Clare and Reese Alshouse, Parker Olson, Roman and Kellan Olson, also survive her. Nieces, nephews, and wonderful Waukon cousins also survive her.Visitation will be held at Hamilton's near Highland Memory Gardens at 121 NW 60th Ave., Des Moines, from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m., on Thursday, October 27th. Funeral services will be held at Our Lady's Immaculate Heart Catholic Church, 510 E. 1st St., Ankeny, on October 28th at 11:00 am.Saturday, October 29th, there will be a visitation at Martin Funeral Home in Waukon, Iowa from 12:00 - 2:00 p.m. with burial following in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Waukon.
