Don ReedMarch 31, 1941 - May 8, 2015Donald "Don" Reed, 74, of Nampa, passed away on Friday, May 8, 2015 at his home. Don was born on March 31, 1941 in Twin Falls, Idaho to George W. and Mildred Butcher Reed. He was raised and educated in Hazleton, Idaho where he graduated from Valley High School in 1959. He married Samme Ann Savage on April 15, 1960 in Gooding, Idaho. Don and his bride moved to Nampa in 1960 to attend NNC. He began working construction which turned into a full-time occupation for 40 years, becoming a general contractor and small land developer. The past 13 years, Don drove Semi-Truck for various companies fulfilling his love of the open-road. Don's passion was missions, both foreign and domestic. He selflessly gave of his time, skills, and resources to reach-out in humility as Christ commands. Horses, cattle, and land were Don's hobbies. Never one to rest, a relaxing time usually meant maintenance on any of these and nothing would put him more at ease. Family and friends were always an integral part of what Don did in life, from work, to missions, to leisure time. Don the bridegroom, daddy, papa, brother, uncle, colleague, missionary, and friend will be missed, but, those of us who share his faith will certainly see him again one day. He is survived by his bride and best friend of 55 years, Samme Ann Reed; his children, Kristi Dawn (Reed) and Warren Relaford and their children, Brennon and Brice of Atlanta, GA, and Jeremy William and Jacqueline Reed and their children, Gage, Rory, Anai and Annelise Reed and Sean Steele of San Antonio, TX; his siblings, Ellen Reed-Hawkins, Ken Reed, Velma Reed-Wood, Evelyn Reed-Arnold, Karen Reed-O'Neil and Jim Reed; a sister in law, Nadine Lancaster and special niece, Paula Bivens; brother in law, Melvin Mitchell; 10 nieces; and 6 nephews.
