Dolores "Dolly" Kacuba Obert, 81, of Springville, passed away after an extended illness on March 24, 2014, at the Endless Mountains Health Systems, Montrose. She was predeceased by her husbands, Leonard J. Kacuba and Raymond C. Obert.She was born on September 9, 1932 in Binghamton, N.Y., to the late Joseph H. and Lenora (Dalton) Monahan. Dolores is survived by her eight children and their spouses; Stephen and Libby Kacuba, Wisconsin, Barb and Rick Anderson, Endicott, N.Y., Rosalie Dachille, Indiana, Alice Kacuba, Maryland, Joseph Kacuba, West Virginia, Ann Marie and Robert Baldwin, Springville, Cathy Clute, Pennsylvania, Leonard Scott Kacuba, Ohio; stepchildren, which she considered her own; Rita Collins, Elmira, N.Y., Noreen Belmonte, Florida, H. Charles Obert, Cranston, R.I., Esther Obert, Allentown, Loretta Seamans, Fayetteville, N.C., Jude Holland, Madeira Beach, Fla., Ramona DallaZanna, Emmaus, Michelle Larson, Kane; sister, Theresa Teel, Springville; sister-in-law, Sallie Monahan, Boyertown; aunt, Catherine "Kitty" Jones, North Carolina; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. Dolores was also predeceased by her grandson, James Dachille; and brother, David Monahan.Dolores was named the Nurse of Hope by the American Cancer Society. She was a Registered Nurse and worked at EMHS as an OR nurse. She also worked at ASA Park Nursing Home, Abington Manor and Carpenter Care facility in Tunkhannock. She was a member of the Holy Name of Mary Church and was an avid gardener. The true passions of Dolly's life were her family and her flowers; she loved it most when she was surrounded by both.A Mass of Christian burial was held Friday, March 28, 2014, at the Holy Name of Mary Church, Montrose, with Father Phillip Rayappan officiating. Interment will be in the Holy Name of Mary Cemetery. Visitation was held Thursday evening at the Daniel K. Regan Funeral Home, with a Prayer Vigil Service held at 8:30 p.m.
