Dirk HeroldUrbandaleDirk Herold, 27, passed away April 24, 2017 from liver issues. The family will visit with friends Thurs., Apr. 27, 2017 at the Merle Hay Funeral House, 4400 Merle Hay Rd. from 3:00-5:00 pm with a memorial service to follow. Dirk was born on Feb. 27, 1990, and found out shortly after he needed a liver transplant, which he received at the age of 6 months. After graduation from Urbandale High School in 2010, Dirk became a father to the love of his life, his daughter Jaden Bennett of Des Moines. He is also survived by his parents John & Teresa (Becker) Herold, brothers Creed Herold, Johnston and Grae Herold & fiancé Amanda Fizer of Grimes, paternal grandparents Bob & Jerry Herold, Beaverdale. Aunts and uncles, Michele Herold, Beaverdale, Mike & Teresa Herold, Urbandale, and Diane & Todd Moreno, Johnston, plus several cousins. Dirk was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Tom & Dorothy Becker, Hansell, IA, and Uncle Paul Herold.
